OfficeWorks 2025 Sustainability In Action
OfficeWorks and MillerKnoll are committed to creating spaces, programs, and products that make a positive impact on people, our community, and the planet.
A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future
At OfficeWorks, sustainability is more than a goal. It’s part of how we work and who we are. In partnership with MillerKnoll, we’ve made great strides in 2025 by expanding composting and recycling efforts, rethinking how materials are reused, and creating products, spaces, and programs that make a lasting difference for people, our community, and the planet.
Building a Better World
Sustainability Starts Here
Small actions add up to meaningful impact. In 2025, the team introduced two compost bins to collect green waste from employees and contractors, packed 40 bags of compost for employees and visitors, and replaced all disposable kitchen items with compostable serveware.
Recycling and Reuse in Action
This year alone, we have recycled 80 pounds of used Keurig pods through K-Cycle, 6,000 pounds of copy paper made from sawmill waste, and more than 500 pallets through a local sawmill partnership. Our warehouse and office teams also participate in ongoing recycling training to ensure cardboard, paper, and packaging are properly diverted.
Community & Connection
Sustainability at OfficeWorks extends into our community. The Better World Committee hosts Earth Day and fall recycling events that bring our team together in support of local impact. To date, nearly 1,000 pounds of clothing, shoes, and accessories have been donated to The Julian Center, and our native plant garden, with more than 100 plants, continues to attract pollinators and add natural beauty to our space.
300+ Furniture Pieces Reused
Our Workplace Services team gave new life to more than 300 furniture pieces this year, including 200 chairs, 25 desks, and 50 storage units. Each piece was responsibly recycled, repurposed, or donated to support sustainable use.
Partnering for a Better World
Our local efforts are part of a broader sustainability story. MillerKnoll was recently named to Newsweek’s 2026 list of America’s Greenest Companies for its leadership in renewable energy, sustainable materials, and environmental innovation. The company now operates using 100 percent renewable electricity across its global manufacturing facilities and has removed more than one million pounds of single-use plastic packaging since 2020. MillerKnoll’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 reflects a shared belief that every decision can make a difference.
Small changes. Big impact. Together, we’re building a better world.
